| Many individuals
suffer from health issues and are not aware they have
them. Identifying the symptoms and obtaining care from
the appropriate health professional would lead to a
much healthier and happy life.
The FDA in their July-August 2004 Consumer
report said “Better informed consumers are empowered
to choose and use products we regulate to improve our
health” further “because physician visits
that result in earlier detection of a disease, combined
with appropriate treatment, could mean that more people
will live longer lives without the risk of future costly
medical intervention.”
To guide people in identifying these symptoms,
a number of web sites offer information that will help
you evaluation whether or not you have a specific health
issue. The information ranges from on-line questioners
to a free on line hearing test.
The sites are not meant to replace consultation
with a trained health care professional.
The information is arranged by health
issue.
The Mayo Clinic offers a general purpose web site to help you figure out your symptoms.
